Planning Checklist – Food Recovery

Commercial Food Waste Reduction in Alameda County

This series was initially from the Northern California Recycling Association’s (NCRA) Commercial Food Waste Reduction in Alameda County, the first-ever study of wasted food prevention and recovery efforts and opportunities in Alameda County – and perhaps in the US. Highlights include over 50 policies and program suggestions, food recovery ecosystem infographics,  and observations and findings based on research and stakeholder interviews. Funded in part by StopWaste, the report is available here.

NCRA, Zero Waste USA/COOLNow Staff are evolving it in to a methodology that can be used anywhere. There are 3 sections – Instructions, Glossary and Options. To better understand the process, please read the Instructions and Report first. The actual Checklist is available on request.
