Inspiring Communities to Embrace and Achieve Zero Waste

ZW Curious?

ZERO WASTE CURIOUS – Zero Waste Community Organizing – One Small Group At A Time

Zero Waste Curious (ZWC) is Zero Waste USA’s introductory presentation. Customizable, it can be held as a special event, at regularly scheduled staff or volunteer meetings or even as part of larger programs. Each event starts with an entertaining introduction to Zero Waste, then the focus shifts to your community and your household. Participants leave with a much better understanding of the meaning and benefits of Zero Waste, what is happening locally and how to embrace Zero Waste personally and as part of a group.

REQUEST A PRESENTATION

Would your organization or group benefit from a custom presentation on the substantial social and climate benefits of Zero Waste?

This program is conducted by Zero Waste USA Program Director Portia Sinnott with assistance from volunteers trained specifically for this purpose. We prefer one- or two-hour slots but are ready and can to do short presentations followed by Q&A.

Thanks to a grant from the Altamont Education Advisory Board (AEAB), ZWC presentations are free to SF Bay Area groups.  Non-profits and community groups in other areas may request free or low cost sessions depending on location, travel expenses and availability of presenters.

In addition, Zero Waste USA offers speakers, in-service trainings, day-long courses and threee-month certifications. For more information, please contact Ms. Sinnott via our Contact Page.

JOIN THE Z-TEAM

Zero Waste USA is recruiting volunteers to help promote Zero Waste. Each team receives two on-line classes followed by in-person tours and presentation rehearsals with family and friends. Homework includes reviewing websites and outreach materials. Trainees interested in additional training may be offered scholarships future ZWUSA trainings.

Volunteers that meet reasonable minimum requirements will be invited to join Program Director Portia Sinnott in conducting presentations.
